At Wingra, Community is Our Foundation

Choosing the right school means finding a place where your child is learning to be a compassionate, engaged member of a supportive community. At Wingra, we don't leave connection to chance—we build intentional community within the adult and student populations every single day. This creates a vibrant, safe environment where every child feels seen, valued, and ready to thrive.

Here are just a few ways we weave these vital connections into the very fabric of our program:

Community-Driven Program Components

Early Release Mondays: Fueling Our Faculty, Benefiting Your Child We use this crucial time for our staff to engage in weekly, focused meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning. This ensures our dedicated team is aligned in their goals and equipped with the latest insights and strategies to support the needs of every student. When our teachers are connected and prepared, your child receives the highest quality educational experience possible.

Friday Afternoon All-School Time: Building Bridges Across Grade Levels

  • The Learning Partner Program: We thoughtfully pair older and younger students to create a special dynamic. This allows for dedicated time and space where individual relationships can form, mentorship can flourish, and younger students gain role models while older students develop empathy, patience, and leadership skills.
  • Multi-Age Clubs: Students from different levels come together surrounding a shared passion, be it robotics, chess, gardening, or creative writing. These clubs break down traditional grade barriers and allow children to connect organically based on interest, fostering a genuine sense of shared school life.

Wake-Up Wingra: Our Weekly Whole-School Assembly There is nothing quite like starting the week together! This lively assembly is a chance for the entire community—from our youngest students to our Head of School—to gather for a shared experience. It sets a positive, unified tone for the week ahead and reinforces the feeling that we are all part of one big Wingra family.

Family Potlucks & All-School Gatherings Our community extends beyond the school day. Several times throughout the year, we invite parents and siblings to join in on the community building. These gatherings are a wonderful chance to share a meal, connect with other Wingra families, and spend relaxed time together on campus. They are essential opportunities for parents to build their own support network and truly feel connected to the life of the school.
