Extended Care Program

Wingra School offers an Extended Day Program before and after school each day. Before school hours are from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. and after school hours are from dismissal to 5:45 p.m.

Children can choose from a number of activities, including games, puzzles, manipulatives, reading, and art projects. The group goes outdoors to the playground or to the gym each day for physical activity. The teacher for the program, Debbie Blitz, stays in good communication with each child's classroom teachers and parents to ensure that there is continuity throughout the child’s school and home life and the extended day program.

The program is also offered from 7:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on days the school is closed for in-service or conferences. The group will often go on a field trip on these days. Debbie will contact parents directly about the plans and necessary arrangements for the field trips.

Students may enroll in the Extended Day program for specific days depending on the families needs. Interested families should speak with Elizabeth Garcia, Wingra's Administrative Secretary, about the enrollment schedule and fees.
